AWS expands Resource Control Policies support for Cognito and CloudWatch Logs - devamazonaws.blogspot.com

AWS Resource Control Policies (RCPs) now provide support for Amazon Cognito and Amazon CloudWatch Logs . Resource control policies (RCPs) are a type of organization policy that you can use to manage permissions in your organization. RCPs offer central control over the maximum available permissions for resources in your organization. With this expansion, you can now use RCPs to manage permissions for Amazon Cognito and Amazon CloudWatch Logs resources. For example, you can create policies that prevent identities outside your organization from accessing these resources, helping you build a data perimeter and enforce baseline security standards across your AWS environment. RCPs are available in all AWS commercial Regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. To learn more about RCPs and view the full list of supported AWS services, visit the Resource control policies (RCPs) documentation in the AWS Organizations User Guide. Amazon RDS for SQL Server enhances differential and transaction log restores support - devamazonaws.blogspot.com

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for SQL Server now supports differential and transaction log restores for instances configured with Multi-AZ and instances with read replicas in the same region. The native SQL Server backup and restore component provides an essential safeguard for protecting critical data stored in your SQL Server databases, and it allows you to migrate your databases between different environments, such as from on-premises to Amazon RDS for SQL Server. Differential backups are cumulative backups of all data changes that have occurred since the most recent full backup, while transaction log backups record every single transaction in the database. Combining these with full backups you can create a disaster recovery strategy to minimize data loss. Previously, customers who needs to use native SQL Server differential and transaction log restores were required to remove Multi-AZ and Read Replica so that the instance is in Single-AZ mode, restore the datab...

[MS] Context-Driven Development: Agent Skills for Microsoft Foundry and Azure - devamazonaws.blogspot.com

Image
Code will be generated, not written. Working with 100+ companies, I have seen this firsthand: most enterprise workloads taking dependencies on AI SDKs are usually net-new microservices. Hardly anyone has Windows-scale codebases for their new AI features. This is modular, greenfield work. Perfect for coding agents. The catch? Out-of-the-box agents lack domain knowledge about your SDKs and patterns. But frontier LLMs are extraordinarily sample efficient. The patterns you need are already encoded in their latent space from pretraining, especially when working with popular languages. All you need to provide is the right activation context. That is what skills do. What's in Agent Skills? github.com/microsoft/agent-skills is a collection of skills, prompts, agents, and MCP configurations that provide the activation context to specialize coding agents for Microsoft Foundry and Azure development. The repo contains: Skills : Modular knowledge packages for specific domains (Cosmos DB, Fo...
